Powerful Lecture on Bioelectric Cell Food
The 2012 Second Edition of Oxford Encyclopedia of Food and Drink in America acclaims: ‘...the raw food movement owes much to Dr. Aris LaTham, a native of Panama, he is considered to be the father of gourmet ethical raw foods cuisine in America. He debut his raw food creations in 1979, when he started Sunfired Foods, a live food company in Harlem, New York. In the years since he has trained thousands of raw food chefs and added innumerable recipes to his repertoire.’

Dr. Airs LaTham studied at the University of Legon in Ghana, as well as New York University, and graduated from the College of Staten Island (CUNY) with a B.A. in Education and Spanish. He also completed graduate studies at California State University Fullerton, with majors in Linguistics and Bilingual Education, where he was a polyglot scholar of Kiswahili, Sanskrit, Italian, Arabic, and Ebonics. Professor LaTham taught Spanish, Kiswahili and English as a Second Language (ESL) at the secondary school level in New York City and New Jersey. He taught at California’s College of San Mateo, Fullerton Community College, and Sullivan Language Institute, Cornell University in New York and Brown University in Rhode Island. Dr. LaTham was an administrator at the Tanganyika International School in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. He also served as a Bilingual Curriculum Writer and Second Language Specialist for the San Francisco and San Bernardino Unified School Districts in California. Dr. Aris LaTham was the keynote presenter at the 2009 International Vegan Festival in Rio de Janeiro and lectured in the School of Nutrition at Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Florianopolis Campus in Brazil.

His linguistic and culinary interests have been shared with many diverse people throughout Africa, Asia, the Americas, Australia, the Caribbean and Europe

Dr. LaTham, who is self-learned in the Culinary Arts and Sciences through his private ten thousand-volume library collection, is the originator of SUNFIRED CUISINE and PARADISE PIES . SUNFIRED FOODS have been featured by Black Entertainment Television (BET), the Food Network, Temple University Medical School Forum, Organic Food Producers Association of North America, Family Channel’s ‘Body by Jake’, CNBC: Alive and Wellness, ABC: Eye Witness News, CBS News, Jamaica’s CVM TV, and TVJ’s Frontline with Ian Boyne and numerous Worldwide Television and Radio Magazines. He was an Executive Chef at Hippocrates Health Institute, West Palm Beach, Florida.

Dr. LaTham was voted one of the top vegetarian chefs in the USA by Vegetarian Times Magazine. He has been featured in Essence, Jamaican Eats, Vegetarian Gourmet, Health Quest, Upscale, UK’s Balance, and Japan’s Tarzan Fitness Magazines. Dr. LaTham was the featured chef at the Raw Food Masters Culinary Showcase at Swept Away Resort in Negril. Born Dante Terrell Smith on December 11, 1973, in Brooklyn, NY, Mos Def began rapping at age nine and began professionally acting at age 14, when he appeared in a TV movie. After high school, he began acting in a variety of television roles, most notably appearing in 1994 on a short-lived Bill Cosby series, The Cosby Mysteries. In 1994 Mos Def formed the rap group Urban Thermo Dynamics with his younger brother and sister, and signed a recording deal with Payday Records that didn't amount to much. In 1996 his solo career was launched with a pair of high-profile guest features on De La Soul's "Big Brother Beat" and Da Bush Babees' "S.O.S." A year later, in 1997, Mos Def released his debut single, "Universal Magnetic," on Royalty Records, and it became an underground rap hit. This led to a recording contract with Rawkus Records, which was just getting off the ground at the time, and he began working on a full-length album with like-minded rapper Talib Kweli and producer Hi-Tek. The resulting album, Black Star (1998), became one of the most celebrated rap albums of its time. A year later came Mos Def's solo album, Black on Both Sides, and it inspired further attention and praise. Yet, aside from appearances on the Rawkus compilation series Lyricist Lounge and Soundbombing, no follow-up recordings were forthcoming, as the up-and-coming rapper turned his attention elsewhere, away from music.

During the early 2000s, Mos Def acted in several films (Monster's Ball, Bamboozled, Brown Sugar, The Woodsman) and even spent some time on Broadway (the Pulitzer Prize-winning Topdog/Underdog). He simultaneously worked on the Black Jack Johnson project with several iconic black musicians: keyboardist Bernie Worrell (Parliament/Funkadelic), guitarist Dr. Know (Bad Brains), drummer Will Calhoun (Living Colour), and bassist Doug Wimbish (the Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, Living Colour). This project aimed to reclaim rock music, especially the rap-rock hybrid, from such artists as Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, who Mos Def openly despised. What made Black Jack Johnson so anticipated though was not so much the supergroup roster of musicians or even Mos Def himself, but rather the lack of black rock bands. Following the demise of Living Colour, there were few, if any, that had attained substantial success. Mos Def hoped to infuse the rock world with his all-black band, and during the early 2000s, he performed several small shows with his band around the New York area. In October 2004, he finally delivered a second solo album, The New Danger, which involved Black Jack Johnson on a few tracks.

Two years later, after a few more acting roles — including the Golden Globe-winning Lackawanna Blues and the Emmy-winning Something the Lord Made, both of which were made-for-television movies — Mos Def released his third solo album, True Magic (2006). A contract-fulfilling release for Geffen, which had absorbed Rawkus years prior, the album trickled out in a small run during the last week of 2006. Bizarrely, the disc came with no artwork and was sold in a clear plastic case — though its single, "Undeniable," did manage to grab a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Solo Performance. The Ecstatic, released on the Universal-distributed Downtown label, followed in June 2009; at that point, Mos Def had significant acting roles in Michel Gondry's Be Kind Rewind (in which he co-starred with Jack Black) and Cadillac Records (he played Chuck Berry).

Writing seems to have been invented in the late fourth millennium BC in Mesopotamia in the form of wedge-shaped marks pressed into soft clay with a reed stylus: the script known as cuneiform. Through his work on this ancient language, Irving Finkel, has uncovered amazing secrets from over five thousand years ago, including the story behind Noah’s ark.

Irving Finkel is the curator in charge of cuneiform inscriptions on tablets of clay from ancient Mesopotamia at the British Museum, of which the Middle East Department has the largest collection of any modern museum. This work involves reading and translating all sorts of inscriptions, sometimes working on ancient archives to identify manuscripts that belong together, or even join to one another. He is the author of The Ark Before Noah: Decoding the Story of the Flood.

JAYAPURA (Café Pacific): The current armed conflict between West Papuan National Liberation Army (TPNPB) and Indonesian Military Forces in Nduga, West Papua, are demonstrated in this video released by TPNPB News.

This video was taken a few months ago in Nduga when Indonesia dropped military personnel in an airborne operation.

On a different occasion, the same helicopter dropped an internationally banned weapon, white phosphorous, in December 2018, and in some different places dropped live bombs, according to TPNPB News.

On 27 January 2018, a war ultimatum was announced by the National Operation Comander of TPNPB, the military wing of OPM armed resistance, Legakek Tellengen in Puncak Jaya.

Zimbabwe is at risk of losing its youth to codeine cough syrup, as the addiction epidemic has already engulfed what the experts estimate could be over half the country’s young people. Despite the growing problem, Zimbabwe’s government has not yet opened rehabilitation clinics, meaning addicts are often sent to prison or psychiatric wards.

The cough syrup, often of the brand BronCleer, is imported illegally from South Africa, and is sold on every street corner, in bars, school yards and on busses for as little as $3 a bottle.

We meet current and former users, as well as the NGOs pushing the government to open up rehabs, to find out why cough syrup has become the drug of choice for so many young Zimbabweans.
